Big B (Amihtab Bachan) Again With Nana
Nana Patekar, Amitabh Bachchan Mehul Kumar made a couple of films with Nana Patekar (TIRANGAA, KRANTIVEER, KOHRAM).This guru of Abbas-Mustan (yes, the director duo assisted Mehulbhai for couple of years before they turned independent) has also made a few films with Amitabh Bachchan. Now Mehul is making the sequel to KRANTIVEER, called KRANTIVEER - THE REVOLUTION.Why did he opt for new names this time? "Because the subject deals with youth. I could've cast established actors, but they would've come with the baggage of a fixed image. As for newcomers, you can mould them the way you wish to, " the veteran film-maker says.Mehulbhai had cast Big B and Nana in KOHRAM and one expects him to team them yet again."I'd love to direct them again. They're brilliant actors. In fact, at the launch party of KRANTIVEER - THE REVOLUTION, when someone asked Amit-ji if there was a possibility of working with Nana again, he instantly answered that if Mehulbhai has the script that would do justice, he'd accept it immediately, " Mehul says.So is Mehul approaching them for a film? Most importantly, does he have a script that would excite Bachchan and Nana? "Oh yes, I have a script. I hope to approach them in the near-future. It would be great if this project materialises, " Mehulbhai says.
Katrina Kaif-Asin in a strange battle!!!!!
If our sources are to be believed then Aamir’s Ghajini girl Asin is all set to become Shah Rukh Khan’s girl in the upcoming Yash Raj project.Katrina Kaif was initially being considered for this project but the King Khan made a conscious decision of keeping away professionally from anything that’s related to Salman, Katrina’s name was dropped.“But then there was also a problem having Asin in the film.” sources further reveal. “The Yash Raj project was to go on floors during 2009 but Asin was committed to do a Priyadarshan project co-starring Akshay Kumar.
In fact Akki himself had suggested her name and she had landed in a catch 22 situation as rejecting the Yash Raj project would mean taking on the biggest production house’s ire and refusing Akki’s film would mean hurting him.Since, Akki herself had suggested her name, Asin was not able to back out of it. But then luck favoured the Southern beauty as recently Akshay announced his inability to shoot the Priyadarshan project in 2009 and allotted dates of March 2010.Now her dates for 2009 end got free and she intimated Yash Raj about it. Now the buzz doing the rounds of industry circles is, Asin may be replaced from the Priyadarshan project with Katrina Kaif. Now that would make it a full circle if it happens so!”

When Aishwarya left Amar Singh speechless
Such is the oomph that Bollywood star Aishwarya Rai exudes that it can even leave speechless a hard-bitten politico like Amar Singh who has mastered the turn of phrase and is used to being surrounded by TV reporters eager for a sound byte. That's exactly what happened at the Rashtrapati Bhawan Tuesday as Aishwarya arrived in style to receive her Padma Shri civilian honour from President Pratibha Patil.Tall and lissome and clad in an embroidered pink sari, she was quite naturally the cynosure of all eyes as she regally swept into the ornate Durbar Hall for the ceremony. It was only a little later that the audience realised that she was accompanied by her equally tall father-in-law Amitabh Bachchan and the rather shorter Amar Singh, who is the general secretary of the Samajwadi Party and a very visible face on TV these days in the run up to the general elections. As the TV cameras rolled and the still photographers clicked away furiously, Aishwarya quite visibly savoured the moment even as Singh seemed lost.Cut to the Banquet Hall where the guests adjourend to after the ceremony for high tea.As she entered, Aishwarya was quickly surrounded by eager autograph seekers thrusting forward everything from invitation cards to writing pads to pieces of paper for her to sign.A smaller group surrounded Bachchan and as for Amar Singh, he moved from one to the other, not quite knowing what to do.Finally, he decided to call it a day and slunk into the background, his expression seeming to say: "What am I doing here?"
And, when Aishwarya trooped out as grandly as she had swept in, Amar Singh quietly followed her and Bachchan.
"Come on, give him a break," remarked a wag. "Perhaps he's feeling lost because this is one place he can't play his politics.""It's not that," remarked another. "It's called the Aishwarya effect of being overshadowed." .
