Akshay Kumar, Sonakshi Sinha shoot with Holy men….

Shirish Kunder’s Joker is making great progress. Recently, Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha were spotted shooting with real sadhus for their song in the movie.
The song is being shot in Chandigarh by Farah Khan and hubby Shirish Kunder. The idea of involving sadhus in the song came up instantly when the duo spotted a procession of sadhus passing by on the day of Mahashivratri.
Initially, the holy men were reluctant to shoot for the film, but when Farah persuaded them that they were required for just one shot, they agreed. Among the real sadhus, the extras on the sets too, were made to enter the song, dressed up like sadhus.

Akshay Kumar Next Movie Joker Shooting started after his back injury scare

(1) At 15th February, Tuesday, Akshay Kumar joined the Joker team in Chandigarh and filmed his shots with co-star Hot Bollywood Actress Sonakshi Sinha after back injury scare.

As per Latest Bollywood Twitters Page Updation, Director Shirish Kunder wrote that, "Wrap for Day 2 Shoot of JOKER.

Akshay and Sonakshi joined us today. What energy on the sets!!!"

"Minissha shot her first scene for JOKER today. Always smiling. Darling to work with." "Shreyas has been shooting with us since yesterday. He is my nuclear weapon."

On Saturday, February 13, at Global Indian Film and TV Awards 2011 show, Akshay hurt his back again after Khiladiyon Ke Khiladi Movie. He was at the awards to launch his new film, a Balaji production, Once Upon A Time in Mumbaai 2.

Akshay Kumar To Star In The Sequel Of ‘Once Upon A Time In Mumbai’

There is nothing to be shocked about. Speculations are rife that Khiladi Kumar Akshay has been considered for the sequel of ‘Once Upon time in Mumbaai’. If the Stunt King gives his nod, then he would be playing Emraan Hashmi’s role.
Incidentally, Akshay was earlier said to have been approached by the production house; for producer Ekta Kapoor was keen to have him for the sequel. However they had problem when he demanded a hefty fee of 27 crores.
Latest buzz is that Akki has now revised his price, as he is willing to rebuild his market’s image after giving string of flops (Khatta Meetha, Action Replayy, Tees Maar Khan).

A Bike In Gift From Twinkle To Akshay

She’s got chic style and ahem, expensive taste too. In a gesture to cheer up hubby dearest, smarting really badly, post the tanking of a certain ‘Khan’ flick, Twinkle startled the starry life force of Akshay Kumar on their tenth wedding anniversary by reportedly gifting him a custom made Harley Davidson shipped all the way from USA!

As per sources, the bike is priced at over $7000 (almost R 3.5 lakh).

States a highly placed insider, “Akshay loves bikes and has been riding the same one for years. He has always dreamed of owning a customised high end bike. This time, on their tenth anniversary, Twinkle decided to gift him the bike. It’s maroon and chrome and has specialised features.Akshay has always wanted a bike with a laidback, comfortable seat as he likes to ride with Aarav and Tina in the pillion.”

Ms. Dutiful Spouse made note of all of her hubby’s specifications and had the mean machine shipped across all the way from USA on their recent wedding anniversary.

Sources swear that ‘Khiladi’ Kumar was stunned to see the bike. Says the insider, “He immediately took Tina and Aarav out for a spin in suburban Mumbai. Most wives would think of giving their husbands something safer but Twinkle knows her guy is an extremely safe driver who would never take unnecessary risks. Whenever he’s riding his bike, Akshay wears his helmet and undertakes all the safety measures one requires for a safe ride.

Akshay Kumar Slaps A Security Guard For Son Aarav

Recently the Khiladi Akshay Kumar switched on his action mode and slapped a security guard, who reportedly pinched his son Aarav’s derrière.

According to a leading daily, a security guard (Bhandari) from a Juhu building was tightly slapped by Akshay, and finally kicked out of his six-year old job on the actor’s behest.

Apparently, while Akshay and his wife Twinkle are resolute on the fact that the guard pinched Aarav’s buttocks, the guard claims to have saved Aarav’s life.

Buzz has it that the 35-year old security guard was quickly dismissed from his job while his security agency maintains that he was simply doing his duty and preventing Aarav from entering a meter room.

According to a dweller of The Grand Eastern Shores, Akshay and Aarav were visiting a family friend in the afternoon. While Akshay was busy conversing with some residents, Aarav wandered into meter room. Meanwhile, Bhandari spotted the eight-year-old kid walking down into the meter room and pulled him out just in time before he could touch any live wire.

However, a few minutes later, Akshay was found roughing up the security guard.

The Hera Pheri team- director Priyadarshan, stars Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal and Suniel Shetty - is the dream team in Bollywood, who is once again ready to create the same laugh riot with De Dana Dan.
However the bonus this time is the magical romantic pairing of Katrina Kaif and Akshay Kumar. The film is about to release on November 27 and promises to roll off audience from their seats.

Ratan Jain, producer of the film, said, “For most of the filmmakers of Bollywood, this is a dream team. The Hera Pheri combo is back to entertain after a gap of nine years. Of course, as a bonus, there is the hit jodi of Akshay and Katrina who have a magical romantic track inthe film.”

Jain is happy with his productions house’s long association with Priyadarshan having produced films- Hungama, Hulchul, Garam Masala earlier. De Dana Dan’s cast includes 26 top comic actors from the industry. However, Katrina who recently played a comic role in Ajab Prem Ki Ghajb Kahani is excited about this film too.

Khiladi Akshay to represent India at Winter Olympics

Bollywood’s Khiladi No. 1 Akshay Kumar feels privileged as well as nervous to run with the XXI Winter Olympics torch on Thursday in Canada. The XXI Winter Olympics are slated to start from on February 12,
2010 in which around 80 countries are participating. The competition includes eight sports, like ice hockey, figure skating and Alpine skiing. Last time in 2006, India had sent a team of four members to the competition held in Turin, Italy for sports luge, cross-country skiing and Alpine skiing, but India didn’t win any medal. So it seems like the pride of the nation is in Akshay’s hand this time.

When we wonder how an actor is chosen for the honour, Akshay explained, “I definitely didn’t get nominated because of my cricket skills. I may be a celebrity, but with great power comes even greater responsibility. I have put a lot of effort over the years supporting and being brand ambassador for the ‘Special Olympics’ in India. I would go to any lengths to promote sport in my country, my efforts have been appreciated worldwide, and I am touched that India shares my enthusiasm. To be honoured to carry the Olympic torch is so prestigious in every country; you can’t ask for this honour, you can only be recognised for your true love and dedication to children, to sport, to bettering your country’s involvement in the world. You can’t imagine how grateful I am. And how nervous as well!”

Akshay will be the only actor among 14 other international celebrities to run with the torch.

Often referred to as the Bruce Lee of Bollywood, Akshay Kumar or Akki, has come a long way since his entry into the film industry. Originally known as Rajiv Hari Om Bhatia, Akshay is considered to be one of the most handsome actors in Bollywood. With a towering height of 6’, Akshay kumar aims higher, he plans to do films out of the ordinary.

Kareena Kapoor and Akshay together again in Imtiaz's Next Film

Imtiaz Ali’s next film would be for the production house Shree Ashtavinayak (who lately ran out of ‘Luck’).Says Imtiaz, “I was supposed to make a film with Ashtavinayak featuring Akshay Kumar and Kareena Kapoor. Though it was a story written by me I didn’t quite like it myself. So I dropped the idea. I’ve no idea what I’ll be making for them. But I’m committed to do film for them next. Though we haven’t discussed my price or anything.”Imtiaz has also been signed by Sajid Nadiadwala to direct a film.Nowadays Imtiaz Ali spends the maximum time with people of a rather dubious social standing. His best friends at the moment are black-market ticket-sellers at movie theatres. They’re the ones who are keeping him constantly informed about the boxoffice progression of Love Aaj Kal.In fact they are so familiar with Imtiaz’s movements they track him down wherever he is to give him an update on his film’s collections.Says Imtiaz, “These black marketers are fearless and they mean business. They won’t tell me anything but the absolute truth about the ticket sales. They are the best and most reliable source of information on how my film is doing.The trade analysts have their own take, and the buzz within the industry tells me nothing about how the film is actually doing.Because everyone has his own axe to grind So I’ve found this method of monitoring my collections.”Imtiaz knows all the black-marketers by their names. He know where they live and they are free to visit him any time. The entire time since his film’s release Imtiaz has been hobnobbing with his friends in the black zone.

On Monday he was spotted outside Mumbai’s Chandan theatre at noon, inquiring anxiously about the shows for Monday.“They told me they had bought tickets to sell in ‘black’ rates for Monday evening and night and they had bought out the tickets for all the shows on Raksha Bandhan so I’m happy.”Imtiaz intends to celebrate with his friends from the black zone once the film is a certifiable hit.I’m not going by anyone’s verdict except theirs ” says Imtiaz resolutely. “You can call it a bit of chor bazaari in my life.”Imtiaz is upset by the guarded critical response to Deepika Padukone’s performance in Love Aaj Kal. “I think she really really got the point. She understood the character and its aspirations and she took her on internally. The best compliment for Deeepika came from Saif. After seeing the film he said Deepika gave a better performance than him.”.

Actors Take To Production

Shilpa Shetty has also launched her production house titled S2 Global Productions and has apparently signed in Prakash Jha for the project that will hit the floors in November.

Saif Ali Khan is the newest Bollywood star to join the actor-turned-producer brigade. His debut venture as a producer Love Aaj Kal has hit the theaters today and is anticipated eagerly among audiences. Till then here's a sneak- peak at others who have 'owned their work.'

Hari Om Productions, led by Akshay Kumar had struck gold at the box-office with Singh is Kinng and now Khiladi Kumar is digging out another movie titled Khatta Meetha.

Lagaan and Taare Zameen Par are one of the few Indian films that have managed to bag an Oscar nomination. Both the movies came from Aamir Khan Productions. The banner had also turned out Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na.

Bollywood's Nayak, Anil Kapoor has been quite unlucky as a producer as all his three films Gandhi -My Father, My Wife's Murder and Badhaii ho Badhaii did not do well at the box-office.

Similarly, Devgan Productions, owned by Ajay Devgan faced huge losses with his first film, Raju Chacha. His second film U Me aur Hum too did average business.

Katrina Kaif's shooting as Amrapali for De Dana Dan

Katrina Kaif seems to be on an experimenting spree when it comes to her on-screen wardrobe. After donning a casual college girl look in New York, the actor will be seen in an Amrapali-like avatar in Priyadarshan’s De Dana Dan. Katrina Kaif, who’s currently in London to spend time with her family, has just finished shooting for a song Main baarish kardoon paiso ki for the Venus production at Mehboob Studios in Mumbai. Choreographed by Ganesh Hegde, the track composed by Pritam is an energetic, fun and contemporary number that sees Katrina Kaif and Akshay Kumar undergoing three or four costume changes, according to producer Ratan Jain. The song also features the other lead actors– Suniel Shetty, Paresh Rawal, Sameera Reddy and Neha Dhupia in contemporary costumes.Talking about Katrina’s look in the song over an email from London, designer Rocky S, says, “The brief given to me about the song in order to design Katrina’s look was that it was energetic, fun and contemporary. Since we wanted a retro-ethnic look, I felt it could be well-achieved through an Amrapali look, adorned with traditional jewellery like baju bandhs and mukuts.” Commenting on whether Katrina, who’s never donned an ethnic Indian grab before, had any apprehensions about the look, Rocky clarifies, “There were no apprehensions whatsoever from Katrina or the director once we discussed the idea. In fact, Katrina was a great sport and felt quite confident with the experimentation of outfits. The transition from the retro-look to an ultra-glam diva ensemble and eventually a new-age hip-hop artiste was pulled off by Katrina with much aplomb.” As for the rest of the film, Katrina has a fresh, clean and young persona in the film with a couple of saris as well, according to the designer. .

I’m back with Manish Malhotra in 3 Idiots and the remake of Stepmom.I’ll be dressed up as a stylish young girl. I’m planning to cut my hair. I’m really proud to be called stylish. I like that. The clothes and designer depend on the character and film.In Jab We Met I was simply dressed in salwar kameez. In my forthcoming films Qurbaan and 3 Idiots I am minimalist in my clothes. But KI was about beautiful surfaces and shallow people. I had to dress immaculately.The standards for a heroine’s look and styling had to be raised. In terms of clothes, lopok hair and makeup we’ve done that in KI. The fact is, I wanted to look very different. I wanted to look larger than life.”Kareena gives the credit for her Kambhakkt look to her designer Aki Narula. “He went shopping for my clothes and accessories. This may be a masala film. But I’ve never worked harder.

In terms of styling and body language even dance and drama I really worked hard. I wanted it to be a phataka kind of role. I wanted the audience to come out breathless.”Kareena found it very hard to play the stuck up b…tch in KI. “I got to play someone very different in KI. Now when people see me in Qurbaan they’ll be shocked again.If I can carry off Kohapuri chappals in Omkara I am equally at home in Jimmy Choos in KI. I’m equally proud of both kind of films. Madhuri did a Mityudand and a Choli ke peeche side by side. Look at the films actors like Madhuri, my sister Karisma, Saif and Akshay did in the 1990s. And look where they got!I guess I was lucky.” .

Kambakkht Ishq had Earn Rs.1 billion in first week

Despite mixed reviews for its weak storyline, Akshay Kumar and Kareena Kapoor starrer romantic comedy "Kambakkht Ishq" has grossed Rs.100 crore (Rs.1 billion) at the box office in its first week.Distributed worldwide by Eros with around 2, 000 prints worldwide, "Kambakkht..." hit more than 1, 400 screens in India and about 600 overseas in a combination of prints and digital format.Directed by debutant Sabbir Khan, it released across India as well as in Pakistan, Britain, US, Australia, Europe, South Africa, Fiji Islands, the Middle East and Malaysia, among others.Released July 3, the film opened to extraordinary advance bookings courtesy its unprecedented buzz and has brought a new lease of life for Akshay's flagging career after two major duds "Chandni Chowk To China" and "8X10 Tasveer"."'Kambakkht Ishq' is doing exceedingly well in all the overseas markets. All major markets like US, Gulf, Australia and even Pakistan have shown extraordinary box office performance in first week, " said Pranab Kapadia, president of Eros International in a statement released here Friday.Kapadia looks after Eros' distribution in Europe and Africa.Nandu Ahuja, the senior vice president who looks after distribution in the domestic market for the company, says after the overwhelming weekend collection, the movie is going steady."The film has remained steady during the week post the stupendous opening weekend. Lulla, the film was made on a budget of Rs.62 crore (Rs.620 million) including print and advertisement costs and has grossed around Rs.70 crore (Rs.700 million) in the domestic market and Rs.21 crore (Rs.210 million) overseas.The music and digital rights of the film have fetched around Rs.10 crore (Rs.100 million)The film earned around Rs.19 crore (Rs.190 million) worldwide on its opening day.Apart from the death-defying stunts by Akshay, the film also has much publicised cameos by Hollywood stars like Sylvester Stallone, Brandon Routh and Denise Richards. .
