The iMu Vibrating Speaker is now available in Japan via Thanko. The tiny speaker uses the vibration-based technology to convert any flat and hard surface into a speaker. The gadget comes equipped with a USB port and a 3.5mm audio input. The iMu Vibrating Speaker retails for 4,280 Yen ($47).

The most notable feature here is the use of li-ion rechargeable batteries that have cathodes made from a material called “olivine-type lithium iron phosphate cell”. This will allow for higher power output, long life performance and excellent thermal stability. The device will be able to be used as a supplement to stationary power supplies for data servers or as a backup supply for mobile phone wireless base stations.

The gadget features a 2.2-inch color LCD screen with a QVGA resolution (320 x 240), an integrated “text to speech” function and an 8GB of internal memory (expandable via microSD / SDHC cards). JK Shin, the president of Samsung’s mobile communications division, has confirmed that the Samsung Galaxy Tab will be launched in the third quarter of 2010, which ends in June. This Apple iPad competitor is powered by a 1.2GHz ARM Cortex-A8 processor, Android 2.2 OS, a 4,000mAh battery and a 7-inch Super AMOLED touchscreen, which will be viewable outdoors. The gadget also has a 16GB of internal storage, which is expandable via a microSDHC card slot (up to 32GB).

Samsung has once again expanded its line of hard drives with the introduction of the Spinpoint F4. Coming in 3.5-inch form factor, this new 320GB drive features a SATA 3.0 Gbps interface, an 8MB or 16MB of buffer memory and offers a working speed of 7200 RPM. Not to mention, the drive also uses all the latest technologies including SilentSeek and NoiseGuard. The Spinpoint F4 has begun shipping to OEMs, though its price has not been mentioned yet.
