Finally, Nepali beauty Manisha Koirala has settled down in life after tying the knot with the Nepal-based entrepreneur Samrat Dahal in a traditional ceremony in Kathmandu on Friday. The function which was a private and a closed affari with close friends and well-wsihers took place at the the Gokarna forest resort, 10 km east of the capital. Manisha looked very much a coy bride in a yellow saree. She garlanded Samrat and exchanged rings as priests recited Vedic mantra. Besides parents and close relatives, Bollywood biggies like actors Suman Ranganathan; Manisha’s co-star in her debut film Saudagar, Vivek Mushram; and Govinda’s wife Sunita also attended the ceremony.

Off and again, Lara Dutta has been linked with Mahesh Bhupathi. In fact, Bhupathi was claimed to be the apparent reason behind Lara dumping off Dino Morea and Lara has been held responsible for havoc in Bhupathi’s married life. The inside sources also claim that Mahesh and Lara are very close to living in together and some also claim that the love birds are hunting for a private and cozy nest for themselves.

These days, however, Bhupathi’s wife, Shvetha Jaishankar, denies that she ever wanted a divorce. Shvetha told daily newspaper DNA, “Although I would not like to delve into my personal matters…I wish to clarify that the reference to me filing for a divorce is false. There is no question of differences arising over my role in the company.”

Nevertheless, the editor of Savvy magazine, Andrea Costabir, continues to stand with her story of the irreconcilable differences between Mahesh and Shvetha, saying that the marriage was definitely headed for Splitville.

Lara Dutta was, however, unavailable for the comment.

Seems Mallika Sherawat is on no mood to return to her desi tinsel town as Hollywood has embraced her with open arms and she has a handful of offers there. After ‘Hisss’ and ‘Love, Barack’ opposite Laz Alonso, the sexy bombshell has been offered a film with none other than Salma Hayek. The movie is supposedly based on the women abuse around the globe. Though Mallika seems eager to do the film, the formal announcement is yet to be made.

Mallika impressed many Hollywood biggies when her film ‘Hisss’ was recently screened at the Cannes Film Festival and she also got friendly with Hayek at Cannes. Even after they returned to the US, they were in constant touch and arranged to meet each other for dinner few days back. It was then when Salma narrated the script of this women centric film and suggested that Mallika play the main protagonist.

Mallika’s official spokesperson neither confirmed nor denied the news and said, “We haven’t received any such information as yet, but we will be making an announcement if anything is finalised.”

Prachi Desai does a ‘Bobby’ for Milan Lutharia

Prachi Desai made a big leap from the smaller screen’s Bani to the bigger screen. However, she managed to bag in roles which did not require much of the skin show. This time, for a change, she has decided to get a step bolder for her forthcoming ‘Once Upon A Time In Mumbai’ for Milan Lutharia. She will be seen wearing the outfit similar to the one worn by Dimple Kapadia in ‘Bobby’, yes the same outfit which swept the nation off its feet.

Prachi has worn the outfit for a song where Emraan Hashmi and his girlfriend (played by Prachi Desai) watch Bobby and then Emraan gifts her Dimple’s outfit. It’s a passionate sequence which has Emraan and Prachi getting drawn to each other. Though Prachi was initially hesitant to don on the outfit, Milan managed to convince her.

Prachi says, “Emraan’s called Shoaib in the film. I play his conservative Muslim girlfriend Mumtaaz. Bobby was a big hit at the time the movie was set in. Shoaib is inspired by multiple real life personalities and one of them had a fascination with Dimple’s Bobby persona. Hence Emraan is seen gifting me outfits due to his fascination with Bobby.”

She adds, “Dimple looked so gorgeous that I didn’t want to be compared to her but Milan convinced me. In fact, Milan gave us a month to work on our bodies for the song. While he wanted Emraan to flaunt his six-pack in the song, he wanted me to tone down my body.”

Revealing more about the film and the scene Prachi says, “The scenes were shot over few months. Emraan is one of my fav co-stars and I am most comfortable with him. I was clear we wouldn’t kiss, though.”

Aishwarya pays a surprise visit to hubby Abhishek

The Bachchans may be busy all the way, but the family sure knows how to value and strengthen their bonding. Of late, Abhishek and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan have had little time to spend with each other. It has been quite a long time they had some quality time together for their short anniversary holiday. Then Abhi got busy with the shooting of Abhinay Deo’s ‘Game’ in Greece, while Aishwarya was in India for a stint of ‘Robot’. Then Ash flew to Paris to honor Gustavo Kuerten (retired former World No.1 Brazilian tennis player) for his work with disadvantaged children. She also bonded with Steffi Graf and Mary Pierce at the charity dinner that followed.

So, missing her husband badly, Aishwarya asked her driver to take her to Abhishek as soon as she landed in Mumbai on Thursday. This was for the first time Ash took a liberty to intrude her husband while he was working at the Reliance Web World doing out-of-town press interviews. She not only met him, she also joined impromptu to talk to their fans on radio in Jaipur and Ahmedabad.

Both Abhishek and Aishwarya will be seen together in Mani Ratnam’s ‘Raavan’, where Abhi plays the character of an abductor named Veera. He is busy with the promotion of the film these days. Recently, he toured the city with six dancers dressed as characters in one of the song from the movie and he greeted fans from an open bus. He also threw goodies like ‘Raavan’ key chains and T-shirts to his fans.

Wardrobe malfunction with Lara Dutta at IIFA

It started off fabulously with Lara Dutta looking gorgeous at the IIFA, Colombo in Sri Lanka in her Gustavo Cadile designed golden gown. The dress was quite low cut but Lara carried it off confidently as usual. Then it happened! As she was addressing her fans and signing autographs for them, the dainty strap of her gown slipped off thereby revealing more than what was intended. The camera person present there captured the moment instantly.

Everyone was shocked but Lara used her presence of mind, kept her cool, held on to the strap and suddenly went back stage to fix it. And then she was back to her role as host and even posed for pictures.

The Mumbai outlet of Zara, the wildly popular Spanish fashion chain, was unveiled at the Palladium mall on Thursday night. Even though the high street brand refrained from advertising (as is its global policy) for its India launch both in Delhi and Mumbai, with tip offs from reliable sources, the brand’s many fans poured into the invite-only opening party wielding credit cards. Bipasha Basu shoots steamy sex scene for ‘Dum Maro Dum’

Bipasha Basu is in news once again. After her topless lotto advertisement shot in the past took the web world with stirs, she is once again all set to shock everyone with her sexuality and all this for her upcoming film ‘Dum Maro Dum’. The gossip columns are abuzz about the hot and steamy sex scene which Bips has done with Hyderabad sensation Rana Daggubati. for Rohan Sippy’s film.

This Rohan Sippy film is based on the sleazy drug business prevalent in Goa and Bipasha plays a junkie in the film. The so- called scene is being described as angrily passionate and “very intimate’’.

However, Bipasha is in no mood to describe the scene as hot or raunchy and defends saying, “You decide when you see the film whether it fits the description of super-hot. The scene is all right. In fact, I think it is regular, like in all films nowadays. What is interesting is the new pairing of Rana and me.”

First Look: Sonam Kapoor’s ‘Aisha’

Sonam Kapoor has a kitty full of promising flicks this year. Her ‘I hate Luv Storys’ is getting rave reviews. The first look of ‘Aisha’ with Abhay Deol is out and the pretty girl, at present, is busy in Scotland with the shoot of Pankaj Kapur’s ‘Mausam’ that co-stars Shahid Kapur. Since Sonam Kapoor is away from home on her birthday, unit of ‘Mausam’ has planned a surprise birthday party for her. Sonam’s Mom Sunita is already with her in Scotland and Papa Anil plans to surprise her by flying down there.

Anil Kapoor, too, planned something special for her birthday and released the first look of Aisha today. Produced by Anil Kapoor Films Company, the movie also marks the debut of younger sister Rhea Kapoor as producer. Directed by Rajshree Ojha, and starring Abhay Deol, Cyrus Sahukar, and Ira Dubey among others, the movie is slated to release on 6th August 2010. It has been shot extensively in Mumbai, Delhi, and Rishikesh.

The story of the movie revolves around Aisha, a girl with a simple diktat - everyone’s business is her business. Aisha will make sure everyone dances to her tune. On the other hand, Arjun believes that Aisha should mind her own business.

Rains disrupt the shooting schedules of Bollywood stars

Though rains bring a wave of relief for the scorching heat of Summer, they have nevertheless spoiled some of the shooting schedules of Bollywood stars. Shahid Kapoor’s ‘Mausam’ shoot, currently going on in Scotland, had to be shifted from outdoors to indoors, thanks to the heavy incessant downpour. Again Priyanka Chopra’s plans, too, went for a topsy turvy as her shooting of ‘Saat Khoon Maaf’ faced a long delay due to the wrath of the rains.

At present, Shahid Kapur and Sonam are shooting in Edinburgh, Scotland for Pankaj Kapur’s ‘Mausam’. Shahid plays an Air Force pilot in the film and will be seen sporting a uniform for most part of the film.

Check out some of the snapshots from ‘Mausam’ which got leaked into the cyber world with Shahid sporting shades and a blazer decorated with stripes and medals, and Sonam dressed in a bright red dress and a wig giving a hint of yesteryear beauty Madhuri Dixit.

Despite controversies and boycotts, the 11th edition of the IIFA Weekend kick started in Sri Lanka with the host country rolling out the red carpet for glamorous Bollywood actors. The ceremony has been boycotted by the South Indian Film Chamber of Commerce as a mark of protest against the alleged mistreatment of the Tamils in the country. Bollywood biggies like the Bachchans and SRK are also giving the extravaganza a miss. While Big B is currently shooting in Gujarat, Abhishek is in Istanbul for a film shoot and daughter-in-law Aishwarya Rai is in Paris to promote a brand. SRK is busy with the post production details of his forthcoming ‘Ra 1’.

Stars such a Hrithik Roshan, Salman Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Bipasha, Lara, Neha, Kangana, Dia, Jacqueline, Riya, Sophie and many more were given a warm welcome by the Lankan fans as they arrived at the Bandarnaike International Airport.

Kareena Kapoor loves simplicity or so she says

In 2008, Kareena Kapoor had appeared on the cover of ‘People’ magazine with heavy makeup that sparked a lot of negative remarks. This time Kareena has kept it nude and de-glam for the latest issue of People magazine.

“Beauty lies in being simple and natural and this is what I believe in. This is the real me. I believe in being natural and People’s cover has given me this opportunity, ” Kareena told reporters on the sidelines of the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) awards.

“When they came to me with the concept and said they wanted to do the ‘India’s most beautiful’ issue, I was up for it. It is ironical that the international version of the same issue features Julia Roberts on the cover,” she added..

Kareena had also avoided makeup for her roles in ‘Refugee’, ‘Dev’ and ‘Chameli’ and goes on to say, “I think a lot of it depends on roles - if it demands you to be glamorous, you be so.”

Shilpa Shetty to get a birthday surprise from her husband

Marriage is definitely turning out to be sweet surprises and mushy romance for Shilpa Shetty who is in for a surprise visit from her husband on her birthday on June 8.

An ecstatic Shilpa wrote on her blog: “Glad Raj is back to celebrate my 1st birthday after marriage on the 8th of June. He has instructed my manager to keep 7th, 8th, 9th free to surprise me with a break (Yes, he’s full of surprises! He’s made arrangements for a trip but I have no idea where to… too sweet, all very exciting).”

The actress, at prestn, is being seen on the smaller screena as the judge of the reality show ‘Zara Nachke Dikha’ where the female participants paid tribute to her by performing on the medley of some of her hit numbers.

Shilpa continued on her blog, “The girls performed on a medley of my songs for an act and in similar costumes that I wore in my songs… made me very nostalgic and brought back some beautiful memories that made me a tad bit emotional (don’t know why) in a good way.”
