It started off fabulously with Lara Dutta looking gorgeous at the IIFA, Colombo in Sri Lanka in her Gustavo Cadile designed golden gown. The dress was quite low cut but Lara carried it off confidently as usual. Then it happened! As she was addressing her fans and signing autographs for them, the dainty strap of her gown slipped off thereby revealing more than what was intended. The camera person present there captured the moment instantly.
Everyone was shocked but Lara used her presence of mind, kept her cool, held on to the strap and suddenly went back stage to fix it. And then she was back to her role as host and even posed for pictures.
Despite controversies and boycotts, the 11th edition of the IIFA Weekend kick started in Sri Lanka with the host country rolling out the red carpet for glamorous Bollywood actors. The ceremony has been boycotted by the South Indian Film Chamber of Commerce as a mark of protest against the alleged mistreatment of the Tamils in the country. Bollywood biggies like the Bachchans and SRK are also giving the extravaganza a miss. While Big B is currently shooting in Gujarat, Abhishek is in Istanbul for a film shoot and daughter-in-law Aishwarya Rai is in Paris to promote a brand. SRK is busy with the post production details of his forthcoming ‘Ra 1’.
Stars such a Hrithik Roshan, Salman Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Bipasha, Lara, Neha, Kangana, Dia, Jacqueline, Riya, Sophie and many more were given a warm welcome by the Lankan fans as they arrived at the Bandarnaike International Airport.
Check out the glittering and dazzling stars as they attend IIFA red carpet on June 5, 2010.

Tamil actress Lakshmi Rai, who has been romantically linked with M.S. Dhoni, rubbishes reports that she flew down to Mumbai from here to console the Indian cricket skipper after the Indian team was ousted from the T20 World Cup.A Tamil daily had published the report."Though I was deeply upset by India's exit from the T20 World Cup, I didn't break down into tears as reported. Neither did I fly to Mumbai to meet Dhoni to talk to him and console him... it's nothing but media's figment of imagination. I just sent a consoling message to Dhoni and that's all, " said the actress."Actually, I'm too busy to have time for such things. Nowadays, I make it a point to even take part in the story discussion of films in which I'm working. So, this keeps me very busy, " added the actress who featured in Tamil films like "Azhagiya Aabathu" and "Velli Thirai".

CAPE TOWN: Kolkata Knight Riders owner Shah Rukh Khan is confident increased availability of international players will make the team more competitive in the second edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL).The franchise finished sixth in the inaugural IPL when they struggled to build momentum with various departures and arrivals of non-Indian players, whose participation was cut short by international commitments. But while Australia captain Ricky Ponting has ruled himself out of this season's glitz-and-glamour Twenty20 spectacular to rest, Khan believes the presence of other foreign stars will boost the Knight Riders."Internationally, I think the players will be more available, so we have the whole team to begin with," he told a media conference at a five-star hotel soon after arriving in this south-west city."We'll have Chris Gayle and Brendon McCullum, and then David Hussey will join us when Gayle has to leave. Brad Hodge is here, and so is Sourav Ganguly. Everyone has been practising over the past 10 days."We are working on amazing plans, including the captaincy issue, which has been a controversy over the past month. I think overall we are very well prepared."Unfortunately, we do have injuries but we'll be there, one hundred percent trying to do much better than last year."English stars are competing in the Twenty20 league for the first time, but none will represent the Knight Riders, due in no small part to high price tags."We have gold and black as a uniform, but the gold is not real," joked Khan. "We are a poor team and English players are very, very expensive.
Shah Rukh Khan is not called the King Khan by all just like that. He may be amongst our nation’s biggest superstars but when it comes to sheer hard work he doesn’t like shrink away opting for better comforts.A source reveals, “There is sweltering heat in Mumbai but that couldn’t stop him from shooting his IPL team Kolkata Knight Rider’s music video out in the sun at Filmcity, Mumbai. The sun was literally burning the skin and there was no shade in picture there. In the scorching sun, without any complaints, SRK shot his music video with his team members at the helipad area under the video’s choreographer cum director Farah Khan.It is learnt that this music video was first planned to be shot at his team’s conditioning camp at Kolkata but since IPL 2’s venue was shifted to South Africa, the whole concept of the video was changed. The song will be the same ‘Too hot Too cool’ with some minor changes to it. No new song has been recorded this year. The music video will now also have an African feel to it with slight changes to the music. ”Our source further reveals, “SRK plans to leave for South Africa on Tuesday April 14th for the inaugural ceremony which is going to take place on April 17th. Though he won’t stay their throughout the tournament, he will make two big visits staying there for longer periods. ”.
Witnessing the romance of cricket and Bollywood, seems exhilarating this IPL season. Bollywood’s czars and czarinas are leaving no stones unturned to project their team as the best. Right from visiting temples to making swishy videos, the filmy people have added bright and vibrant colours of filmdom to the ‘Gentleman’s Game’ - giving it a complete makeover. And Shah Rukh, being the ‘King Khan’ cannot lag behind in anyway. The shift of venue of IPL from India to South Africa has set a challenge for the team owners. Everything has to have an international appeal. Considering this, Shah Rukh is reportedly coming up with a new album, that will replace his Korbo, Lorbo, Jeetbo Re –the lyrics of the Kolkata Knight Riders anthem last year.A source said to a news daily, “The tournament has moved to SA. Keeping that in view, the anthem Korbo, Lorbo... has been changed. The beats are different and the lyrics too will have a more international feel to it.”There are rumours that the video of the song will also be re-shot. “SRK has heard the song and there are talks of a new video being shot for it. But nothing is confirmed as of now,” informed the source. .
